Berliner Sparkasse Promotional Campaign Through QR Code
An approach to enable Berliner Sparkasse make an impact through a marketing campaign using QR code.


"Want to win an iPhone 5S? Or Samsung Galaxy S4?  How about a Tag Heuer watch? Maybe a Sony LED TV? and furnitures, computer sets, kitchenwares, groceries for your chosen charity/non profit organizations?"

Concept Overview :

- Posters, banners, billboards, stickers of Berliner Sparkasse with a QR code would be installed all over its 190 sales offices and branches. Along busy malls and streets such as Alexa, Kurfurstendamm, Hackischer Markt, Friedrichstrasse, Schlossstrasse. In airport, terminals, train stations, taxis, buses.

- Embedded within the QR code is link to a webpage of the Berliner Sparkasse marketing/promotional campaign.

- On the poster, aside from the Berliner Sparkasse company name and logo and the QR code, there would also be a catchy tagline such as "Want to win an iPhone 5S?", "Want to win a Samsung Galaxy S4?", "Want to win a Tag Heuer watch?", "Want to win a Sony LED TV?" and "A grand showcase for your chosen charity/organizations".

- Curious individuals with a camera phone and a QR code reader scans the QR code which enables them access to the Berliner Sparkasse contest website.

- On the Berliner Sparkasse contest website are registration forms where contestants have to fill out. There are questions and topics regarding Berliner Sparkasse bank operations  which a contestant have to correctly answer for additional points. It would be an awesome opportunity for Berliner Sparkasse to showcase its different products and services through this platform such as, private and corporate clients financial and investment services, services related to savings and loans, checking accounts, asset management, private banking, comprehensive support for business customers, insurance products, pension products and real estate financing.

- Contestants would be immersed and engaged on the contest website knowing that a prize is at stake. 

- Links to other social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ are available for easy sharing/referral to friends. Once the system verifies that a friend have joined the contest through his/her link, a point would be added to his/her total score. The more correct answers on the Berliner Sparkasse questions, more successful share/referrals would equal to more points.

- Anyone who registers on the Berliner Sparkasse, 18 years old and above and make the needed score is eligible to win. A computer generated draw would be made from those entries. A special prize for the one who made the highest total points would also be awarded.

- Lucky winners have the opportunity to spread out the love by choosing a charitable institutions/non profit organizations as his co-winner. For example, he/she may chose ICI Berlin, Hope Foundation Cameroon, Berlin Civil Society Center or Berlin Kids as the beneficiary of the grand showcase prize.

- Charitable institutions/non profit organizations may win furniture sets, computer sets, books, kitchenwares, medicine supplies and groceries  helping them to be more of goodwill service to others.

- The Berliner Sparkasse QR code campaign vision is to encourage insights regarding Berliner Sparkasse banking operational procedures, inculcate in everyone's heart the joy of helping others as well as enabling each and every individual in Berlin have a different understanding on savings, credit and investing. That they may view Berliner Sparkasse as a companion that would bring potential to their life.

Berliner Sparkasse QR code campaign to raise massive awareness and foster corporate social responsibility by helping charitable institutions/non profit organizations.

Who will benefit from your idea, hence whom is your idea directed towards?

My idea basically has an impact for everyone. First, on any individual which is a potential customer for Berliner Sparkasse. Second, to the awarded charitable institutions/non profit organizations in Berlin which would encourage betterment of their dedicated mission. Last but not the least, to Berliner Sparkasse as a company since this idea I believe, would generate information awareness about the products and services that the bank offers.

Why is your idea “good for Berlin”?

The opportunity to help, lend a hand, extend assistance be it in a form of a marketing/promotional campaign is always an idea not only "Good for Berlin" but for everyone that this concept touches. It would also be "Good for Berlin" since this campaign would open up knowledge of banking procedures, processes, requirements to anyone. Imagine a world where everyone is aware, informed, and have the right information on what Berliner Sparkasse can provide to make their banking life a great one.

How many people do you think will benefit from your idea?

Knowing that this concept have the chance to help a charitable institution/non profit organizations, the effect of the benefits to everyone would be a thousandfold. Touching other peoples lives and hearts by giving the needs of those groups who derives happiness by giving their time and love to other human beings would make a wonderful ripple effect. Integrating this idea for Berliner Sparkasse campaign benefits all the class, gender and professions of every individual in Berlin.

In what way does the Berliner Sparkasse gain visibility through your idea?

Offline - posters, banners, billboards, stickers off Berliner Sparkasse QR code throughout its 190 sales offices and branches, on busy streets, malls, airport, terminals, buses, taxis, trains, clubs, gyms, stadiums, cafe's, restaurants, shops, anywhere in Berlin.

Online - Social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube and blogs.

Which kind of people and how many of them will take notice of your campaign?

The students, farmers, businessman, artists, nurse, newlyweds, athlete, retiree, photographer, anyone in Berlin. If taken into account the widespread posters, banners, billboards, stickers visible throughout the establishments, busy streets, shops, trains, taxis, it can capture attention from millions of Berliner. Add another million of audience it can generate through online shares from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google+ and blogs.

How much do you estimate the annual budget for the implementation of your idea to be?

Prices of gadgets such as iPhone 5S, Samsung S4, Tag Heuer watch, Sony LED TV, furnitures, computer sets, groceries and others varies in market. QR codes are easy to generate programs and there are available free sites on the internet that offer it. Berliner Sparkasse's programmers, developers and web designers can integrate the website to their banking system. In my opinion, a budget of $80,000 would be fine, if monthly winners are awarded and campaign runs for a year.
