Solution

For the research I saw for the very first time that the roof deck from the famous Alexanderhaus (Architect: Peter Behrens) and at the same time the headquarter of the Berliner Sparkasse, has already a green roof.

My question was immediately: Is it not possible to use this fantastic place partly for the public?

What might be the use?

  1. Recreation area
  2. Cafe
  3. Exhibition = for example the result from this certain contest could be displayed on the roof deck.
  4. As we can imagine : many things more

 

It's an eight floor building, the panorama view has to be fantastic. Having in mind: Approx 100.000 People crossing this center square of Berlin each day.

The necessary staircase (translucent glass wall) could be the entrance. It's facing nicely to the Alexanderplatz. It could be partly also used for surprising subtle light installations (having in mind that the building is under monument protection)  and/or could be already an indoor exhibition space in somehow.

Citizens of Berlin as also Tourists of Berlin.

Why is your idea “good for Berlin”?

It's a GREEN roof = fantastic for a better environment in a city. Great for recreation. Great for temporary exhibitions in warm seasons: Exhibitions about Berlin; about ideas of a sustainable city. .......... .

How many people do you think will benefit from your idea?

Some (and even some more) of the 100000 people who crossing the Alexanderplatz daily.

In what way does the Berliner Sparkasse gain visibility through your idea?

they open the roof for US! that's no so bad for the beginning. Some exhibitions might be about Berliner Sparkasse itself.

Which kind of people and how many of them will take notice of your campaign?

....with the time more and more and more people will hear or read from this place.

How much do you estimate the annual budget for the implementation of your idea to be?

not much for the roof deck itself, because it's existing. Should be absolute in the budget.
