As animal species decline more and more, there may come a time when all that will remain, apart from us, will be the small rodents, such as mice, and the insects. With the destruction of the forests and all other "wild" areas, Mankind will dwell in a sort of virtual world designed on and by computers and will forget what the physical world should actually look like. In such a world a lowly rodent would become a rare sensation.
