Since the main theme was the elementary school, the whole concept was developed around the school's memories. From green to yellow, we move on from the games (with a modular display with toys exhibited) to the classes (which are now on the ceiling, with the tables and chairs organized). Also, the modular display was duplicated and scaled to create a play area on the outside of the building, in the garden.
Explain how and why you created this work. Was it for a specific brief, etc.?
Despite having the potential to be transformed into a real space, this project arises in a academic environment. It was a project developed in the 3rt year of the Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. The briefing of this project was to idealize an exhibition that would be about the elementary school and located in the Albergaria-a-Velha elementar school.
What were you trying to express?
As an Interior Designer, I see myself as an eclectic person. I have a lot of different interests, inside and outside of this discipline. But focusing our mind in Interior Design field, I idealize various types of concepts along with the projects that I have to work. In this particular one, I wanted to create a physical space that embodied my memories from the elementary school. I didn't wanted a normal exhibition, I wanted an exhibition in the shape of a playground for all ages.
Is it 100% your original work?
Yes, off course. Even though this proposal has already some years since I created it, I didn't changed the main ideas and the concept. I simply felt along the way that I could create more visual information or even upgrade some of it with the aim to be more understandable. But I have the rights of this project.
