The author's brief included some of the poems from this collection, some of which referred to the relationship between colour theory and musical scales in the work of Australian Modernist painter Roy De Maistre.

My design attempted to make a visual connection in the reader's mind between musical scales and the colour spectrum. My aim was a contemporary take on the modernist aesthetic that also conveyed the poet's interest in visual or "concrete" poetry. The deliberately blurry text incorporated into the cover design is from one of these concrete poems the collection by Roberts.
