Observation

It uses the younger demographic (25 - 40 y.o.) who have access and know how to operate an electronic device such as phone, computer, tablet; to help the elder demographic (60 - 80 y.o.), who are at much risk of infection with the new coronavirus.

Conclusion

According to the World Health Organization, people of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus. My proposal aims to reduce that risk by providing the elders with the necessary everyday items via delivery by younger people, that want to help out, during this crisis, in their community.

Solution

  1. The elders are required to write a list of groceries.
  2. Then place the list in the box.
  3. Get a number for the box and provide additional info such as phone number and address.
  4. The users of the app will be able to see the request.
  5. They can choose to buy groceries for someone who requested help, next time they go shopping.
  6. Place the goods back in the same box.
  7. Contact the person who asked for this service in order for them to pick up the order.
