Miele Coolkeeper backpack is a portable fridge with CO2 cartridge, which cools groceries or medicine, even in summer temperatures. The delivery of orders in the recyclable backpack is without interrupting the cold chain. To receive the Coolkeeper during the home absence, there are several (uncooled) pick-up stations on EACH STREET! Instead of a cooling-system that you carry in your hand, the backpack is practical for activities, you have your hands free to ride a bicycle, push a baby carriage...
Pain Point: Customer absence | Solution: The customer can track the order and decides which pick-up station he want to use (at domicile, at work, at train station…). Pain Point: Too few pick-up stations or too far away | Solution: Because the Miele Cookeeper cools itself, no refrigerated pick-up station are necessary and Miele does't need to set up its own pick-up stations. Miele can cooperate with all existing ones, whether DHL / Hermes / Amazon / Rewe / or anyone else. There are only many more stations to be set up, especially in rural areas, because the costs of private cooling systems are more expensive than public pick-up stations.
Product in its environment
Miele Coolkeeper - a backpack as a portable fridge with built-in rechargeable CO2 cartridges, that accompanies the customer where he needs. The temperature inside is automatically measured and cooled further if necessary. The customer send a shopping list to his supplier (online shop or local grocery store). The delivery is then always in the Miele Coolkeeper. The backpack will always be added to every new order. Therefore, it is recyclable and can be returned. (like a returnable bottle or drinks crates). The backpack is reusable (purchase in the local supermarket, for a boat trip, to the beach …). This increases the possibility of flexibility.
Assuming that the customer buy fresh or frozen groceries at least twice a month and still want to use the backpack for his free time activities, it is enough if it is designed for a maximum of 30 applications before it is given back. Therefore, there is to pay a deposit, which the customer get back as soon as he give the backpack back.
Product in use
- Suppliers deliver the filled Collkeeper to the pickup station if the recipient was not at home. He gets a secure code that he uses to open the door and pull out his Coolkeeper flexibly at any time. With pick-up stations on every street, no one has to walk or drive far to use a pick-up station.
Costs of pick-up stations: On average, you have to set up 2 pick-up stations in each street. Of course, there must be more in certain areas. With only 2,50 € a month you can cover the costs! With this low per capita financial burden, pick-up stations that are suitable for any type of package can be deployed nationwide, bringing benefits to all. Here is an example: in Germany there are 1.220.441 streets. 2 pick-up stations per street = 2.440.882 pick-up stations. If each station costs 1.000 €, the project in Germany will cost 2.440.882.000 €. However, if each resident in Germany pays only 2,50 € a month, it will be 2.475.000.000 € in one year.
