Steal This Idea: Transformer Bed Turns Into Dining Room Table
bed and dining room table rise up and down to serve both functions in one spot. For your inspiration

Why have a bed in the room when you are not sleeping? Who needs a table when you are sleeping? In this design, both the bed and dining room table are supported on four pipes that run from floor to ceiling.

For dining, the table is at normal height and the bed is raised up to ceiling height. lighting is built into the bottom of the bed. When the bed is lowered on cables, the table drops down to just above floor level so that the bed can drop to comfortable height. You don't have to make the bed or even clear the table of everything; there is enough space underneath.

The table can accommodate 10 people; an extension table can be added at one end to bring the count up to sixteen as required.
