Unlike fingerprints, footprints don't tell much about gender, age, skin colour, religion, or any other personal preferences. So they become immediately transversal and universal to mankind, no matter where you find them. But we can tell from them where from and where to someone went. We can also tell someone speed, height, weight and even posture. All that info briefly printed step after step after step... Our path to the Future started many years back with the very first humans, so we don't have much to say about where we came from. BUT, we are the ones laying the footprints towards a better tomorrow. Each and every choice and decision we individually make today, will become part of mankind's ~7 billion footprints, wich all as one will set our path into future. Technology is already taking it's share, home automation is real, vehicles automation is starting, we are already connected with everything and everyone everywhere. But can a 8K led screen match a live human face? Can a 7G 8.1 surround smartphone match live human voice? Does a soft touchable screen match the texture of a tree trunk, or robotic cooked food match man made meals? Is our fascination with screens and Apps diverting us from natural 'equipments'?
My concept is a try to bring the 2 contexts together in a "natural" but also efficient way. What if we could plug a monitor to a tree? What if we could charge our smartphones from grass, or download music from a rock? What if 'natural' ment organic high-tech instead of decoration? An old saying goes, we are what we eat... So, whatever we decide to fill our lifes with in the present, it will certainly leave a universal joint footprint in the future. Adidas Food Development campus will take it the right way, one step at a time, aka The Adidas FutPrint (or is it FoodPrint??) ;)
