I'll admit that I like this approach of yours because it's the first I see that is cost - conscious. You took it to the extreme but you've made your point + I remember something about this targeting overnight travelers ( and with this too you convince me more then others ).
What I find a bit funny is the fancy traveling cases you chose for these people that spend 1EU/night .
The price makes this cheaper then any rent - it would certainly revolutionize the accommodation business.
Good thinking !
Thank You - i don't realy know is this my proposal a joke or not, but I smile by own when I think that it can be reality.
I was inspired by Ryaniar - i had experience of flying by 1eiro. that low-cost airlines now do great business - may be future of the hotels also is some democratisation of service costs?
Funny approach, but this does already exist in some countries, for example here:
Oh my - i didnt knew that - japanese are cary :). Bu t in fact the japanese version is bad one - no window in capsule, size and proportions - no possibility to seat, badlooking doors - like inNazi cameras. Key element must be a window! and good air condision and sound isolation as well. If there no window - guest will have a claustrophoby. Windows will make that concept profitable and popular!
Oh yes, there´s nothing that doesn´t already exist in Japan I´m afraid ;-)
They´re called capsule or womb hotels and some do have windows and are located at airports. Here some links to check :
Maybe you can find some innovative element to kick it up?
in your 6 links there 2 hotels with capsules - the jepanese one (1 and 6 link) and capsule hotel - one no one from that is with windows! The first picture in 6 link - its is famous japanese Module hotels (modules, not capsules, modules are usual rooms, with bathrooms etc.), but no one capsules You found have outdoors windows! - it is very main element, to make this type of hotel realistic and popular!
Bu i think this proposal is more a humor, so don't take these so serious :)
I don´t take it serious, thought you´d like to have a look ;-)
:) - in your link nr 1 is very good idea - personal air conditioning controls!
Very good idea! I thought what it real. Only I'd done more sections, and in view of the a double bed.
Good advise, thank you!
If it is about economical solution this seems good but probably Morriott is looking for luxury and comforts in 2022.
:) Yes, I think Marriott want a little bit more luxuruous solutions :)
But if we think about futures, we can think that way:
low-cost airlines already compete with classic airlines and win them. Low cost airlines has proved - democratisation of services is the future tendense.
Low-cost airlines has already proved that NoFrills concept is key element to win in war for a client.
If we extrapolate the airlines business experience to the Hotel one,
we can predict:
NoFrills will have huge raise in in the future.
Oldschool hotel will have loose their market segment
haha, privacy is the key word here! The Nofrills privacy is better than in hostels dormitories! and its good :)
mmm, Ive got an idea - may be i can install to guest capsules the ROLL_UP DOORS? some kind of blind doors?
roll up doors would be great.also to dark the "room" to sleep better
I agree with goforit! Il really looks like the japanese capsula hotels.
And so what? But other proposals looks like the european usual hotels. And ? :)
Think about how many people every day must sleep on the GROUND in the airports!
Just imagine, that You can stay in 1euro hotel, end safe 100Euro every night and than use this 100Euro for fun, enterntainments, adventures!
If You like 1euroshops and like cheap flights like ryanair, you will like this proposal.
I added new slide where You can see defference from japanese terrible camera - You can seat there and You have a window!!!!!!!! Enjoy
the same type of rooms, but bigger are in europe airports too, but no one is complaining; every car looks like the one after it, this is the world we live in less originality more copycats.
may be some rooms are in europe airports - but even room i didnt saw yet. And that rooms costs 20+ E. its not the same. Thouthands of people must sleep on the ground or travel bag in airports and it is not good :)
Alright, I must admit, I sort of like this. But expand your concept to talk about how you would use thick, sound-proof materials for walls, no? And address concerns like bathrooms and showers, etc. Are they shared services?
Marriott might look to something like this in the future to accommodate a certain consumer. I think it would have to be a bit more, maybe 10 euros a night, but it is definitely an interesting concept.
Can't wait to see more about execution...
nice approach , but there is something similar in japan , tokyo,
... aaaand what about the bathrooms? I have to say, I find it a bit scary haha. And maybe not too fitting for the target group, this looks more made for back packers in their 20's. However, it's about stretching your thinking - so go on coming up with crazy ideas ;)
I really admire your way of thinking... Robos is sooooo good, I'll rate now, this one too is cool although the thought of bathrooms is scary as Natalie said :D It's not about a room in the future though, it's more about a new kinda hotels or motels! There is another submission that used a similar idea in a bus-stop like form.. Pretty good thinking about coast, Marriot should start aiming for these travelers too :D
Concepto fuerte y diferente, sin embargo el diseño y el cliente (Marriott y huespedes) estan olvidados, si vas a crear un concepto tan radicalmente diferente, deberias tener encuenta a los clientes y las opciones del futuro para enriquecerla
funny and futuristiiic :)
We were working on a concept like this in the collage. I personally think that this is a great idea, lower costs and more fun.I love this !
college :D hah
very nice idea but it doesn't contribute the future. nor the marriott status.
An Interesting design!
