In a world that focuses increasingly more on touch screen technologies,digital devices and virtual realities,i thought it would be interesting to build my idea on the concept of the grid by Steven Lisberger.In his movie,the grid is symbolic to the creator's mind, and it represents the drawing board upon which is designed an entire digital  world.I think,in a similar way, the grid is the starting point for every design.

This design starts from an usual rectangular,but spacious hotel room layout  for two people,based on a typical  open space, with a bathroom at the entrance,that uses a smart glass system,with  touch based control panel displays.

The main space is built around a central folding bed/sofa with foldable memory foam matress and sliding incorporated cofee table,that can transform the sleeping area into a generous lounge area.  

There is a compact wall furniture on the opposite wall,that provides all the storage space needed,mainly for clothing and personal items/luggage,but also bed clothes at the upper side and a minibar,fridge and drinks/snacks storage at the other extremity.The main screen of the guest room offers the possibility of tv and multimedia display,but also provides a smaller mobile  computer display in the office area,wich also has a touch screen controlled desk surface. 

The  design is based on the  use of a glossy white material called Corian,combined with built in electroluminescence ,that will give the furniture and decor that futuristic feel. Only the bathroom (wich also has an infrared sauna and a  steam machine) will use veneer at the interior,ment to provide a more confortable and warm feeling.

Features:

-smart glass bathroom walls(so that the transparency can be adjusted)with touch screen panels incorporated,for climat control and multimedia;

-jacuzzi bath tube with infared sauna system and steam machine ;

-folding bed/sofa with foldable memory foam matress and sliding incorporated cofee table,that can transform the sleeping area into a generous lounge area;

-in the office area,exoPC interactive desk "EXOdesk",with touch screen control desk surface,and adjustable computer screen above it;
