By using a thin aluminium sheet and cutting grooves into the lamp shade the flexibility of the lamp shade can be increased. This flexibility is utilised in switching on and off the light. Compressing the light switches on the lamp and extending it switches it off using a manual trigger on top of the lamp shade. The diffuser at the bottom and top allows for light to bleed and add emotive qualities to the light.
