This beacon is designed to accommodate seating for bank patrons. It also has a pedestal that can support a flower arrangement, a sculpture or a light fixture when used outdoors.
The bank should welcome patrons on a personal level. The idea is to show that Sparda-Bank is not just about making money off the customer, but wants to make the banking experience more pleasant and provide a relaxing atmosphere.
The shape.
The curved structure is 1/2" thick curved birch plywood. The seat is a wood platform upholstered with blue leather (vinyl for the exterior). It's in two pieces which are connected in place via concealed fasteners at the bench level. If curved plywood is too costly, it could be replaced with a formed plastic material. Accessories such as the flower arrangement, sculpture, or light fixture are extra and are not included in the cost.
With appropriate wood finish, such as marine varnish, it will be weatherproof. It will be rather heavy, but by separating the two parts, it should be manageable.
