The two part design consists of the bench section in blue and the back rest/frame in orange. The bench section is made from a core of dense foam with a top surface of memory foam, this is covered by a textile cover. Memory foam in the seating area creates a depression when the customer sits or presses the bench. The back rest/frame is made from pre-formed steel tube which is powder coated to give a durable matte finish. Finally the back rest is constructed from woven stretch elastic offering support and flexibility. This combination allows for a modular approach, making the bench easy to transport as two pieces. Finally the bench has a unique seating arrangement, allowing for two adults to sit side by side on the main front facing area and the addition of seating one adult at the end. This idea focuses on the individuality of each customer, allowing them to either sit alone or in a group.
What is the idea behind your Sparda-Bank-Bench?
The concept is based around the idea of each customer leaving an impression on the bank, weather it be a small or big one. The use of a memory foam in the seating area allows not only for a comfortable seating experience but also expresses the idea of leaving a physical impression at the bank. Banking is a sensitive topic, by creating a bench that is both visually and physically appealing by using soft, warm materials.
What makes your Sparda-Bench iconic?
The modular design allows for ease of transportation and gives a unique design visual. The back rest of the bench acts as both functional support and stability to the bench as a whole. Combined with a unique seating layout, welcoming mix of materials and the "impressions" concept.
