It is scientifically proven that a caregiver that is experiencing mental or emotional strain, has a higher risk of illness that people his/her age. Regardless sex or age, all caregivers complain about the lack of attention for their own person, especially if the ill person is a member of the familly. They all complain about the lack of sleep, poor eating habits, even failure to exercise or rest when ill.

My grandmother, the person who raised me, suffered from Dementia.

The hardest thing for us was the fact that we had to act ok, so we can be there for her in her worst moments. You cannot explain an ill person that you have something on you mind, or you feel sick, or you feel depressed, so most negative emotions had to be kept well locked inside.

Care App is first of all an app that reminds you that you should also take care of yourself. The first stage is a daily quiz to find out the level of stress and anxiety that you have, and depending on that result, you receive tips of relaxation. The second stage is that of activity reminders, such as 10min of stretching, meditation or just walking to clear your mind. The third stage is if stage 2 isn’t enough, you can reach the community. That means that you can talk with other caregivers.
