Solution

Solace is a magazine focused on caregivers and their needs. The magazine is available through a website as well as a printed version that is released once per month. Solace is designed to reach all audiences from young adults who are experienced in technology to an older generation who grew up with printed material. The magazine will provide information that will be helpful for caregivers, new or experienced, in their process of caregiving. The magazine could feature articles written by medical professionals regarding medicines, treatments or specific diseases such as alzheimer or even interviews with experienced caregivers. Solace provides a space for written content that could cover many areas and help to inform caregivers about new treatment centers, health routines or quick exercises to release stress or even provide coupons with discounts in pharmacies. The magazine will create a community of caregivers who will share information and tips with other people who are going through similar situations. The magazine allows caregivers to invest time in education and information without leaving their loved ones.

Describe a caregiver situation that you were/are involved in.

Recently, my great aunt passed away from colon cancer. I was present for the whole process of caregiving from start to finish and even though I was not the main caregiver, I realized how difficult it is to care for someone when you are not qualified to do so. Even more so when the person you care for is a loved one since it becomes a very difficult emotional process.

Explain the caregiver problem that resulted for you and/or other caregiver(s).

Caregivers generally have no experience regarding medical and health services and are faced with the challenge of caring for a sick person. The caregiver often has no information regarding medicines, treatments, side effects or patient care which leads to confusion, anxiety, amongst other feelings that affect the life of caregivers. Often times, the lack of knowledge and information can be the hardest issue to face in a moment of need due to the amount of knowledge required to care for someone.

Describe your caregiver solution that would provide assistance or relief to the problem of the caregiver.

Solace is a magazine available in both print and digital versions in order to reach a larger amount of people. The magazine will feature articles regarding all sorts of information that could be useful for a caregiver such as delivery services, medical and health information and even interviews with caregivers. The magazine will release one printed issue per month that could focus on different topics and will feature all sorts of information available online and updated daily.
