Starcovered v2.0
Connect and overcome. Track your care journey and acquire experience from the stories of others.

We know that all caring journeys are hard, no doubt about that, so why should anyone walk this path alone? And why all the valuable experience of that moments should be forgotten after everything ends?

With this question in mind I've started developing the Starcovered Concept. This system is designed to store the knowledge of caregivers from all around the world and make it accessible to anyone for free, using the tools provided by the two sides of the app.

The Tracker is supposed to have an easy to use interface that allow the user to note its patient recovery process. It acts like a distribution gateway, delivering useful articles to the caregivers, based on the information they upload. It also store data anonymously for statistic purposes.

The Library is designed with the purpose of bringing caregivers from all around the world together by keeping their unique experience noted in a journal and sharing it trough blog-like posts. Also it provides the users with a reward system to help them get discounts on medications and other bonuses based on the content they write.

The both components work together to create the most complete tool for care giving. Starcovered should become over time the biggest network focused on this subject as well as the most complete online guide that ever existed.

The system is very versatile so the best thing is that, once the community is formed, an endless number helpful features can be released using its platform. Great, right?

Describe a caregiver situation that you were/are involved in.

A few years ago my grandma died from bile duct cancer at 63, followed by my grand grandmother (her mother) in just a year. It was a very hard and painful experience because they lived in the house near to us. I didn't stop missing them since then.

Also I'm the big brother of five so I'm a natural caregiver when small problems arise :D

Explain the caregiver problem that resulted for you and/or other caregiver(s).

Well, it would be great if the problems would come whit a 'how to solve' book or at least some secret hints on the back, but they don't. You can never say that you are fully prepared for the unknown, so in my opinion the lack of information and support is the biggest problem in a caring journey. The reality is that most of the time you are alone and it's nothing you can do about it.

Describe your caregiver solution that would provide assistance or relief to the problem of the caregiver.

The domain in which the care giver action is to big and contain to much diverse information so the reality is that this huge amount of knowledge couldn't be included in a book of any size. Also the existing books in the medical spectrum cover their problems in an objective manner. This app provides the platform on witch subjective information could add up and with the support of few bigger information providers like TEVA it could become a real help for people put in the caregiver shoes.

Are all parts of the design 100% your original work or did you use any stock or third-party materials? If yes, please link all stock, fonts and Creative Commons materials here:
