Describe a caregiver situation that you were/are involved in.
I lost my father to lung cancer when I was 16 years old, he died in my arms sudden and my mother when I was 19 years old, diagnost with cerebral edema. A very dear person to my heart, it was like a mother to me, died two years ago. She was suffering of liver cancer. Before dying she struggled for one year with this horrible disease. I was between jobs at that moment and I spend some of my time taking care of her. It was a very intense time, I needed to stay with her for her basic needs.
Explain the caregiver problem that resulted for you and/or other caregiver(s).
Day by day we all have our challenges and choices to make. It`s how we respond to them that really matters. It was a very stressfull, difficult and very exhausting period. I felt very stressed, strained emotionlly, physically and financilly. I was coping with lack of sleep, stress, poor eating habits, lack of attention for my own person. At the end of the day I just wanted to rest, take a break, to talk to someone who can understand my pain, my frustration, guilty, lonelyness and exhaustion.
