My idea is a web platform which provides to caregivers the education they need in order to understand the disease they will have to deal with and gives them access to information about all the medicine they need. The data will be provided as video lessons for the most common diseases. From them, they will learn how the diseases act on the patient’s body and what further challenging situations they will have to face. For example, a caregiver who takes care of a patient who suffers from Alzheimer’s will know all the phases of the disease from the beginning, how they will occur and how the patient’s behaviour will be influenced by them. Videos have a huge success lately (YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the world) and that’s why I think this will be a great resource and will create a bond between Teva and caregivers. The second part of the platform provides caregivers with information about all the available medicine for the disease they have to face. They will have to create a disease profile and will constantly be informed about latest treatments as soon as they appear on the market. Also, every drug from the platform will have a review section where each caregiver can share their own experience with the drug.
We care for the caregiver.
Describe a caregiver situation that you were/are involved in.
My grandfather had suffered from lung cancer and we had to take care of him for three months.
Explain the caregiver problem that resulted for you and/or other caregiver(s).
For us, the biggest problem was not the fact that we had to take care of him. The first problem was that it happened unexpectedly and we could not understand what was happening to my grandfather and how the disease would evolve. We were looking for all kinds of treatments on the internet and we took information from a lot of untrustwothy websites.
Describe your caregiver solution that would provide assistance or relief to the problem of the caregiver.
A website where you can find all the information you need about how to deal with a disease. Everything is presented clear with videos and text support.
