All of the motifs were hand painted. The pattern itself seems to have a good balance of color and overall it is visually dynamic.
I can imagine it on a blouse for H&M or on a dress on the runway. I suppose it's versatile because it's fun, but also refined.
No, all of the elements came from me. I looked at clippings of lace that I own to study how it is made and how the floats are connected. I was inspired by several motifs, but none were copied from existing lace.
