Solar thermal technologies are based on the concept of concentrating solar radiation to produce steam or hot air which can then be used for electricity generation using conventional power cycles. A parabolic dish collector concentrate solar energy at a single focal point. The shape of a parabola means that incoming light rays which are parallel to the dish's axis will be reflected toward the focus, no matter where on the dish they arrive.

How it works: Step 1

A parabolic dish collector concentrate solar energy at a single focal point through which a thermal agent passes, it flows through the pipes and heats the water extracted from the ground, turning it into steam. Now steam turbines are put into operation and produce electrical energy.

How it works: Step 2

A balloon full of helium will float high up. On the surface of the balloons are solar panels that produce electricity.

How it works: Step 3

This solar collector can be located next to a car park. Electricity is transmitted wirelessly so when electric cars are parked, their users can recharge them.
