I think that a simple pattern, such as spots or stripes is pretty essential in your range.

I'm not a designer, but I do like these designs.  I love the colours in particular.

They are from American Crafts Metropolitan Collection.

You may also consider licensing Victoria and Albert museum designs.

If you worked in partnership with museums, they could also distribute your products through their museum shops - and many museums are conscious of their impact on the environment etc.
