Cuts – inspired by Lucio Fontana's work with his 'spatial concepts'

Solution

The shell is made of thin metal and the inside of the shell is filled with black rubber so that the metal surface can be cut, just as Fontana did with his canvases. The cut is 3D, not just applied to the surface.
