What could be more fashionable than a functional, flashy, glitter-adorned accessory?
Read this please.
how is this idea any less on brief than the overrated farce below? : http://victorinox.jovoto.com/ideas/20152
you people are arbitrary and inconsistent about who you hold to the brief.
neither idea can be reproduced given the coarse line screen used to transfer the designs to the knife surface.
gradients are acceptable per the update. with them, you can produce metallic and glittery effects. Change your diaper.
look at any of victorinox current knife design patterns. the line screen looks to be about 75 lines per inch or less. there is no way to reproduce much more than a simple graphic without becoming grainy. attempts at reproducing photoreal patterns will look very low quality. to say otherwise, you are either a completely incompetent as a designer or are desperate to con people.
just because they used tø print a certain way...doesn't mean they have to continue to print that way. there are advances in printing and I'm sorry you have to resort to insults to get your point across.
yes it does. for screen printing, the maximum line resolution has an upper limit which is less than for offset printing on paper media. i gave you the benefit of the doubt by saying less than 75LPI. i can't confirm without an actual sample in my hand, but it looks more like 20LPI on the houndstooth knife pictured on the brief. typically that is the maximum for short run production because they use flexible generic tooling.
