This design shows the urban side of Victorinox; a hidden world behind a skateboard. A story of youth culture, technological inventions, graphics and product design and also the politics of space in cities. Skateboarders often posses an extraordinary talent and manoeuvre on the city streets and the Swiss knife is always an urban tool that makes it happen.
What does your design show?
What is the unique idea about your design?
By materialising the two sides of a skateboard, I wanted to take advantage of the shape of the knife to transform it into a playful and inviting product.
Is there a special story behind your design?
Being a skateboarder myself, this idea felt very natural. I wanted to capture the reality of our cities: the mixture of a physical world, which is the skate itself, and the imaginary one, a colourful shape that invites the user to create his or her own world.
