Pardis
The design derives from Iranian Carpet design motives
1/4

Solution

I used an old Iranian carpet pattern (Isfahan pattern) and edited it to match the knife case. The colors are selectively picked from the carpet itself.

What does your design show?

The floral pattern in the carpet reflects the concept of Iranian gardens called “Pardis” (pærdIs). In Iranian culture, Pardis is a symbol of paradise on earth (The word "paradise" entered English from the French paradis, inherited from the Latin paradisus, from Greek parádeisos (παράδεισος), and ultimately from an Old Iranian root, attested in Avestan as pairi-daêza). These patternes also are symbols of life and serenity.

What is the unique idea about your design?

It stands out because of its different visual characteristics and multiple colors; with red (the color of Victorinox) mostly seen and a dark blue background that gives it a seamless contrast.

Is there a special story behind your design?

Special tools (as shown in the pictures) are used for weaving the wool or silk threads on a loom to create a carpet. Such hard tools to create such softness. (using a knife wisely)
