Solution

The pretty large beetles are active during the summer months. Modern forest practices almost led to their extinction, since the larvae develop in decaying wood. Natural forests with old splintered beech trunks provide the required habitat.

What is the story behind your design?

I saw one of those magical beetles this summer!

Is there a connection between your design and the Victorinox brand?

To me, a Victorinox knive has to be in my backpack when I wander through the woods, range the fields or climb a mountain. Therefor yes, because Victorinox belongs to the great outdoors.
