Solution

The black and white drawing shows the silhouette of the Swiss mountain massif MYTHEN with its two striking summits. Many short hatching lines create a structure that represents the surface of the mountain. In addition to the common way of printing the design on the Swiss Army Knife, the drawing lines can be engrave the drawing lines into the material in order to give the product not only a visual but also a haptic new appearance.

What is the story behind your design?

There are two striking connections that brought us to the idea of our design. At first there was the fact that Victorinox is a Swiss knife manufactory with it’s headquarter at the foot of the distinctive and picturesque mountain massif MYTHEN. Secondly, it’s about the places and situations in which people use their Swiss Army Knives and that is, for example, in the mountains.

Is there a connection between your design and the Victorinox brand?

The Brand Victorinox is a knife manufactory based in the town of Ibach, in the Canton of Schwyz, Switzerland. Its headquarter is at the foot of the distinctive and picturesque mountain massif MYTHEN which is also the landmark of the Canton of Schwyz. The drawings of these mountains can therefore stand as a symbol not only for the brand Victorinox but also for Swiss quality and the country’s closeness to nature.
