The main theme of the design is the fox on the hunt for the hen. This clever canine has bad luck because the hen is sitting high, right on the Victorinox logo. The whole scene takes place in beautiful Czech countryside – among fields, meadows and trees.
Solution
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
I choose the fox and the hen. In Czech countryside these are typical performers of „little dramas“ for the farmers, but it is struggle for survival for the animals.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
The fox is symbol for cleveness and cunning. On the other hand, the hen is symbol for something stupid or not so brigh.
What story does your design tell?
The fox is trying to catch the hen but the hen, despite its so called stupidy, is able to escape. The wit is not always enough – you have to have good luck too. The design is also trying to show glimpse of Czech landscape. It is living environment, where people (and their domesticated animals) live next to the nature.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I choose rather childish style. It is because I studied toy design and this style is very close to my heart. And everybody needs something cute around sometimes, don't they?
