Huitzilopochtli ordered the Mexica people founding their kingdom in the place where they saw "an eagle perched on a cactus eating a snake". For the mexican people this prophesy talks about the land promised by the gods, where now is México. The Eagle eating a snake is a simbol too important that is part of the mexican flag.
