The design is based on the concepts of travel, nostalgia and departure, by emobdying human feelings to the two enamoured cats.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
The cat - it is many's favourite animal (including mine) and a great symbol for calm and wisdom.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
Almost all regions of the globe. It is also widely spread on the streets from my neighbourhood:)
What story does your design tell?
The story of the two cats - a sailor and his beloved one, saying goodbye to each other, after he leaves on the sea and she remains on the exotic island.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I have chosen the iconic 40's US postcards style, intertwinned with the flat design of the scenery and characters, in order to better portray the nostalgic feeling of the story and the irony behind the embodyment of the two cats.
