The first knives were made out of wood, so what would a knife like this look like if you would found it under a view old things on your attic after 100 Years? Right, the woodworms would have taken it in there possession ;) Think it would be really nice and a lot of fun to see it still working wile discovering the woodworms work.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
Woodworm. I wanted to give this little friend some attention for the beautiful little mazes they create into wood. And because its funny.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
Not specific a culture or a region. More dry wood.
What story does your design tell?
Of finding a very very old Victorinox knife, still working! For example a kid browse trough the attic of his grandparents and discovering under a lot of old things the Victorinox knife to the grandparents parents. At first the kid hardly recognizes the knife as what it is. Than surprisingly see that it is a knife and it still works. The story is about that special moment of finding something really special.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
Traces of the woodworm on the back, organized like a maze with five starting points to track. On the other side one hole where the woodworm just popes out.
