Solution

Animals often stands for transformation or skills that one will have. So the idea was to take a fairytale and transform the story into a modern form of success.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I choose in this story design the duck as a animal for freedom, beauty and independence.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

The animal stands for connection across cultures and regions.

What story does your design tell?

My story design based on this fairytale. „The story tells of a homely little bird born in a barnyard who suffers abuse from the others around him until, much to his delight (and to the surprise of others), he matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all. The story is a tale about personal transformation for the better.“ (Wiki) So in adaption to the knife it could matter, that the Victorinox is small but can transform in a beautiful knife with a lot of skills.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

I used a watercolor painting mixed with ink because it's the same milieu in which the duck/swan lives.

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.

I did.
