The Cuban land snail is also called "the painted snail" or "the world's most beautiful land snail. This design shows the beauty of this little animal in a flat, symbolic, colorful style with is perfectly adapted to the small measurements of the "small Swiss Army Knife".
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
The Cuban land snail (Polymath picta) is considered by many experts as the most beautiful land snail in the planet!
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
Cuba (they live mainly in the easternmost part of Cuba)
What story does your design tell?
My design is purely aesthetic but it allows people to know this animal which is threatened by rampant poaching and environmental deterioration.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
Inspired from the typical Cuban posters, my design has a flat, symbolic, strong and colorful style which is functional and perfectly adapted to the small measurements of the "small Swiss Army Knife".

Hi! I am Annick, I am a French-Cuban designer and I live in Switzerland since 2010. I work as a designer and illustrator since 2007. I created this design for Victorinox because I like their products and the firm has a branch office in my city. I think this design fits the soul of the brand, because of its dynamic style, its strong visual impact and its iconic power.
