Cheeky Monkey
One of few animals which uses tools . Like a smart person in the concrete jungle with a Victorinox.

The geometrical style of the monkey with clear angles and shapes represents the accuracy of a swiss army knive. the monkey as a animal stand metaphorically for a smart person in the "big city concrete jungle" where the use of a victorinox knife is the right choice, and makes the life easier, in many situations.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

A monkey, with its unique facial expressions, and its unique tail. One of the reasons i choose the monkey is, because it is one of the few animals who is able to use tools.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

The natural habitat of a Monkey, as we know, is the tropical forest. Metaphorically a monkey stand for a smart figure in the jungle of the big cities around the world.

What story does your design tell?

The story of similarities between creatures of the animal kingdom and the modern human.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

The geometrical, abstract style of the monkey with clear angles and shapes represents the accuracy of a swiss army knife. the black and white gives a catchy contrast as a base, the strong red spices the design up!

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.

Hi! I am Silvio, I live and work in Zürich, Switzerland. I work here as a graphic designer since 2004. I created this design for Victorinox cause I think the monkey is a smart animal, and like we make our live easier with a swiss army knife, the monkey does it with other Tools.
