Butterfly- butterflies resting on an old newspaper reminding us the immortality of beauty ("a thing of beauty is a joy forever, its loveliness increases, it will never pass into nothingness" - John Keats, Endymion)

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

Morpho butterfly - I love how its strong blue constrasts with a greyish surface.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

located in Central and South America and some parts of Mexico

What story does your design tell?

My design wants to draw attention on those instances when something so beautiful and colourful such as a butterfly comes into our sight, sometimes resting on an old and degrading thing -- for a very short time, on that particular moments we can forget our daily duties and experiment happiness and feel the beauty. I wanted to bring this emotion directly on the pocket knife, imortalising this very moment of happiness. I really hope you can feel it too!!

What style did you choose for your design and why?

Hi, my name is Codruta and I am from Romania. I am in love with design and I certainly hope that my imaginative dreams will turn into something useful that could bring smile on other people's faces or make an impact in their life.
