White Stork (Update)
The white stork who returns back home.

My idea is to present a traditional Bulgarian holiday called "Baba Marta" connected with the white stork who is the harbinger of spring.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I decided to illustrate a white stork because I was inspired by a beautiful tradition. Martenitsa is a traditional small adornment, made of white and red yarn which symbolizes happiness and health. Friends and family give each other Martenitsa and wear it as we believe that this will bring a better year. Seeing a stork means that is time to take the Martenitsa off and tie it on a tree, so that is blooming.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

Bulgarian culture, although the white stork is common in other countries.

What story does your design tell?

The stork who returns back home bringing health and happiness. The stork gives everyone who sees it a smile. I decided to paint a child because of their purity and innocence.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

My design is a simple yet colorful so that I can display the joy of this unique tradition and story of the stork. The logo is presented as a Martenitsa.

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.
