The Indian peacock is a colorful, swan-sized bird with a fan-shaped crest of feathers on its head, a white patch under the eye and a long-slender neck.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
I chose the Peacock (Pavo cristatus), which is a symbol of grace, joy, beauty and love is the national bird of India. In 1963, the peacock was declared the National Bird of India because of its rich religious and legendary involvement in Indian traditions.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
What story does your design tell?
The dance of the male peacock by fanning out the tail and shaking the feathers is a treat to watch. In India the peacock is found in almost all parts and enjoys full protection under the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
