The royal parrot is a very popular bird in sudamérica it's very common to see it in plenty of homes as a pet, most of people have them in birdcages. My message in this project is that birds deserves to be free.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
The royal parrot is a very popular bird in sudamérica it's very common to see it in plenty of homes as a pet, in birdcages, this birds have a very long period of life wich can reach the 80 years and all this long period they live locked, this is why I choose it for this project, you can have all the beauty of a royal parrot, just in your pocket.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
Sudamérica, América central
What story does your design tell?
Lola is a Royal parrot, she lives in my grandparents house since I can remember, this bird has been raised in captivity, so she can never have a normal live as a parrot should have, she lives in a bird cage, and became agressive with time, I don't want this to happen to any other animal. The Royal Parrot is a symbol of latin american culture, but It would be nice if people treasure them in freedom.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I choose realism because I want people to see it as it really is, with its colors and feel that they can have an actual Royal Parrot in the pocket, but without hurting the real animal
