I wanted to use the traditional swiss army knife colours in a folk art style.
Your Swiss Army Knife 2017
Solution
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
I chose the fox as it is a big part of Great British wildlife seen in both cities and countryside. The fox lends himself well to the original swiss army knife red colour that I used.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
The fox is a typical British animal.
What story does your design tell?
Foxy is clever, he is a survivor.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I chose a folk art style as I found it it work well with the animal and my choice of single colour.
Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.

I am Fiona, a British designer. I have worked as a Graphic designer within the licensed toy industry for 7 years. I created this design for Victorinox cause I love folk art and think the fox lends himself well to this style. I wanted to use a single colour. I chose the original Swiss army knife colour so that I could use the single colour incorporating the logo into the design.
