I chose a North American squirrel because they are so common where I grew up. They were always in my backyard at home, and they even find their way onto fire escapes in New York City. I love squirrels because they are a bit quirky but amidst their preparations and storing nuts for the winter, they seem to be playing and having fun among the treetops.
I think that squirrels are now common everywhere, but this squirrel is originally indigenous to the eastern part of North America.
My story is a simple tale of living life to the fullest and having adventures.
I chose a simple flat graphic illustration style to tell my story, trying to put a bit more detail into the squirrel expression and face to show his personality.
