Maneki Neko
The luck in your pocket

I want to represent de the Maneki Neko which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

The cat, specifically the Maneki Neko which means “beckoning cat.” This feline is considered very lucky and good for the fortune.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

This cat in the Japanese and Chinese culture represent the lucky, good fortune, happiness, purity, and positive things to come.

What story does your design tell?

I was always interested in Japanese culture and the history of this cat, always caught my attention, so I wanted to use the Maneki Neko in the design for what he represents.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

flat illustation, because I think it's a clean, simple but a representative design

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.
