An ocelot in the front of the knife, with flowers sorrounding the Victorinox logo. On the otherside, embroidered flowers similar to traditional mexican clothing.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
An Ocelot. This animal lives in parts of Mexico and South America. I like how the ocelot is present even in antique cultures like Aztec
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
The Aztec culture. And also represents a big portion of central and south america.
What story does your design tell?
I wanted to project a little of folk, with the ocelot as protagonist. That's why the flowers pattern. I hope that in the moment you see this knife, you think of mexico or south america.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I tried to recreate the way embroidered flowers looks like in the clothing of some antique cultural groups of nahuatl speakers. A piece of clothing on which I based was principally the Huipil.
