Mexican Paper Animals!
In this design I am representing animals in "Papel Picado" in english "Paper cut".

In Mexico we have "Papel picado" in English "Cut Paper" that we use to decorate our Mexican Parties and Festivities. In this design I am evoking "papel picado", drawing inside some animals that live in my country.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I chose animals who live in Mexico such as: Monarch Butterflies, Hares, Salamanders, peacocks and tecolotes.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

All this animals live in Mexico.

What story does your design tell?

It does not tell an specific story.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

I tried to evoke "Papel Picado" as it is a decoration that we use frequently in Mexico in our festivities, incorporating animals that live in the country.

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.
