I have drawn two ravens on one side an feather on the other, and mixed them on intensive colors. Ravens are known as black, but their feathers reflects in many different colors, what makes them even more magnificent.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
Ravens because they look proudly and mysteriously.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
In Norse mythology, Huginn and Muninn are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world, Midgard, and bring information to the god Odin.
What story does your design tell?
Hugin and Munin fly each day over the spacious earth. I fear for Hugin, that he come not back, yet more anxious am I for Munin. (Poetic Edda)
What style did you choose for your design and why?
It is a digital - vector illustration, with nice smooth lines. I usually draw in black and white, but this time I wanted a strong but playful impact on the viewer, so I have used two colors in two tints, and only a little details in contrasting tone.
Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.
I live in Poland, but Norse mythology is close to me. I take part in historical reenactment of Slav culture since 17 years, and I am under a strong influence of the style and art of this culture. Norse and Slavic mythology are very close and both amazing.
