Venezuela Wild Wave
Animals Venezuelan folklore in an element

I basically inspired by the three states of nature, to choose a characteristic animal from my country, which not only remind the origin of the animal, but also was recognized in other countries as an exotic animal. Wavy lines speak a little more about a Venezuelan music called "new wave", which fusine the graph of modernism and gave Jugendstil treatment and dynamism to consider design pleasing to the eye.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I chose three animals to represent three main states of nature, which are water, air and earth. For water, I picked the Tonina (nia geoffrensis) or pink river dolphin, original of South America and found in the waters of the River Orino. The capybara, known as Chiguire, represents the earth, and my favorite, is a type of very colorful crow knowingn as Querrequere (Cyanocorax yncas) , that I alredy see everyday in my stage.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

All three are from Venezuela, each located in different regions of the country; the bird in the Andes, the capybara in the plains and dolphin in the area of the coast and east.

What story does your design tell?

He talks about the diversity of the country's wildlife, nature, the warmth and color that represents a culture, such as family docile behavior characterizing these animals can be the key to their survival in their respective environment.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

Colorful, dynamic, and textures. Treatment illustration is based on organic style that has the art noveau and movement of the wave, making the design juvenile and adult for a target at the same time.

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.
