The Bighorn Sheep is the larger of the two native species of sheep in North America, which I hope never come to disappear from the face of the earth.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
I choose the Ovis Canadensis or Bighorn sheep, which it is a feature creature of the northern region of Mexico.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
The bighorn sheep lived in some of the desert areas of the states of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila y Nuevo León. Unfortunately today this beautiful animal in danger of extinction, currently there are few of its kind and it is getting more difficult to find.
What story does your design tell?
I wanted to reflect how spectacular is this animal, curious inhabitant of desert mountains. It difiende it from predators himself and his family with their powerful horns. The color palette I chose to represent these arid cities, beautiful colors of its sand dunes and vegetation data were limited.
What style did you choose for your design and why?
It is a "style" that regularly use some of my personal illustrations, for fun and that has helped me solve this issue.
