FLORAL STORK
A folk style Polish stork.
1/8

Solution

The idea was to show one of the most characteristic animal connected with Poland by Polish people combined with the folk theme.

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I chose the stork, because even if it is not an animal that lives only in Poland and it doesn’t stay in there for the whole year, Polish people do indentify with him very strongly. It may not only be caused by the colour of the animal which reflects to the Polish national flag colours – red and white, but also by it’s nests that are situated next to our houses. Even if storks stay with us only for the summer we feel like they are a part of our family and culture.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

Poland is one of the biggest habitat for storks during the summertime.

What story does your design tell?

I combine stork with the theme of Polish folk design. It shows the beautiful motifs that derives from Polish design culture.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

I chose the Polish folk art style. It refers to the Polish culture and rural areas.

My name is Kamil Małecki. I come from Warsaw (Poland). I have been working as a Graphic Designer for 3 years. I created this design for Victorinox cause I like to face new challenges and to create new designs. I also appreciate that I could show my country and culture. I had a lot of fun while preparing my project. Also it was very enriching to see the variety of motifs that have roots in Polish culture.
