Victorinox - Deer Camouflage
A camouflage pattern made by deers bounding all over.
1/8

Solution

My main idea was to make a camouflage pattern with animals. Not military camouflage, but natural animal camouflage. They hide from predators thanks to it and they are easily recognizable (zebra, snake, girafe...).

Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?

I've chosen deers ! And particularly deer bounding. They lived in France, Europe, and i think everywhere in the Earth. That's why i've chosen this animal, because he is a kind of universal. The deers are in motion, and we can study animal mechanics through the camouflage pattern.

What culture or region does the animal stand for?

Europe

What story does your design tell?

It's a mix between camouflage which is "the use of any combination of materials, coloration, or illumination for concealment, either by making animals or objects hard to see or by disguising them as something else" according to Wikipedia. Animals use camouflage as humans do.

What style did you choose for your design and why?

Camouflage has been a topic of interest and research in zoology for well over a century. According to Charles Darwin's 1859 theory of natural selection, features such as camouflage evolved by providing individual animals with a reproductive advantage, enabling them to leave more offspring, on average, than other members of the same species.

Please make sure you have filled out your country of origin in your profile! It’s important that the regional Victorinox team understands the cultural background of your design.

France
