Solution

This design is inspired by some of the best-known Brazilian tourist points in the world: the Cristo Redentor and the Pão de Açúcar.

And the idea was to represent them on both sides of the knife as if they were a looking at each other as it is in the real landscape.

On one side of the knife is the Cristo Redentor and above it is possible to see in the distance the Pão de Açúcar. On the reverse side is the cable car of Pão de Açúcar and in the background you can see the Cristo Redentor. And below is represented the Bay of Guanabara with its boats.

The design idea was to represent it in the pocketknife with an elegant, color-saving vintage aesthetic.

Which place, city and country is featured in your design? (place/city/country)

Pão de Açúcar / Rio de janeiro / Brazil

Describe why you have chosen this place as a visual? What story does your design tell?

I had the opportunity to visit the Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) only once until today. The landscape seen from above is truly indescribable, it is wonderful. So I had the idea to represent it in the pocket knife. And also because Pão de Açúcar is a Brazilian tourist spot known throughout the world.

Hi! My name is Tiago Nunes and I am 29 years old. I live in Salvador - Bahia - Brazil. I’ve been working here as a designer for about 10 years. I created this design for Victorinox because I think the way the landscape was represented in the vertical space of the pocket knife was well resolved. I think the idea was well represented, the result is beautiful (what do you think?), and the colors are harmonious. I am particularly pleased with the result . Thank you and wish me luck, bye!
